Bringing History to Life banner

Adept Word Management is proud to support Houston Arts and Media’s Neighbor to Neighbor oral history project. Houston Arts and Media is collecting interviews from longtime Houston residents and archiving the Neighbor to Neighbor oral histories at the Houston Metropolitan Research Center, the Houston Public Library, and at the Woodson Research Center at Rice University. The map below details the neighborhoods featured in this project.

Houston Arts and Media is seeking volunteers to help collect oral histories for this project. If you are interested in participating as an interviewer, visit the Houston Arts and Media website for more details. You can even read through transcripts of a few oral histories, provided by Adept Word Management, of course! You may also enjoy a sampling of the audio oral histories in their entirety below, and click the links below the audio to enjoy interactive transcripts of these oral histories.

Adept Word Management is one of the sponsors for the Houston Arts and History Book Fair and Symposium on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. in the Historic Julia Ideson Building located at 550 McKinney Street, Houston. There is no charge for admission. Come and browse local history books, meet the authors, and hear them speak about their work.
