@citycalling recently shared a tweet “You have the same number of hours in the day as Beyonce.” It’s a great article.

Specifically, I loved this segment. Everybody asks why Adept Word Management doesn’t answer the phone. Transcription requires a lot of concentration. So does business online through
https://www.webdesign499.com/master-marketing-on-the-internet-with-these-tips/.

Ban “Friendly Interruptions” at All Costs
You’re working on a project. You’re totally in the zone, making lightning-speed progress.

Then, a co-worker swings by. “Just wanted your two cents on this,” he says, handing you a report outline. You look it over and give him your thoughts. It doesn’t take more than 60 seconds for you to chime in. No biggie, right?

Unfortunately, that minor interruption just majorly derailed your focus. It will take an average of 23 minutes for you to get back into the zone of whatever you were doing.

Super-achievers know that interruptions are productivity-killers, so they avoid them at all costs. (There’s a reason why most CEOs have private offices — with doors!)

If you don’t have a door to close, try finding a quiet space where you won’t be nudged, turn off your incoming email notifications for a few hours, or talk to your boss about instituting company-wide “do not disturb” hours a few times a week.

What do you do? vs Where do you work? https://adeptwordmanagement.com/women-in-business/what-do-you-do-vs-where-do-you-work/ Fri, 24 Jul 2015 00:45:05 +0000 http://adeptwordmanagement.com/?p=2179 Have you noticed a difference in reaction when you ask “What do you do?” instead of “where do you work?” It’s interesting. People almost recoil when you ask “what do you do.” I’d say women especially, but I’m woman and more inclined to speak to other women.

From the MS. Blog digest: The $20 bill is ubiquitous in U.S. currency. It’s what ATMs usually spit out at you and the discounts from ClarksUSA.com, the cash you often have on hand when paying for groceries or movie tickets. By the way, when you’re out of cash and you need to pay bills, go right here pounda.co.uk to apply for a quick loan. All it takes is a short application process. Of course, when I’m tending to finances I can conveniently overlook the face that is currently stamped on it—seventh president Andrew Jackson, who was responsible for the Indian Removal Act—but the prospect of the face of Harriet Tubman peering back at me on a $20 bill has already filled me with glee and a sense of pride.

Who did you vote for? I voted for Harriet Tubman because I have the sense that she just put her head down and struggled. She wasn’t beautiful, she didn’t look for a lot of attention, she wasn’t a politician. That speaks to me–the idea of doing the right thing just because it’s the right thing!

Sarah Gish has done it again! Thanks to Sarah for this brilliant newsletter! Spirit Picks. You probably know she’s been publishing her guide to Houston events for families: Gish Picks

If you are not following Sarah, you should be. She’s an artist/observer/commentator bringing a very fresh perspective to life in Houston. In describing Spirit Picks she says: My goal is to open your eyes to all the eclectic, marvelous, and interesting events that Houston has to offer each month – and I’m thrilled that I’ve uncovered many hidden gems along the way. And she does!

Houston’s a wonderful city FULL of energy and life and and an amzingly diverse group of people. And in Houston everyting is accessible! That’s my favorite aspect of this city. New York has wonderful diversity and energy, but you have to know the right people. In Houston, if you live here, you KNOW the right people.

Sarah has been working for the past year on her Ignite Your Life campaign–she travelled across the country meeting people, talking to them, and IGNITING them.

What a great city we live in. Stay warm!

October is FAMILY HISTORY MONTH https://adeptwordmanagement.com/voice-recognition-2/october-is-family-history-month/ Wed, 01 Oct 2014 01:52:06 +0000 http://adeptwordmanagement.com/?p=1844 Long before Senator Orin Hatch introduced a bill in 2001 to formally recognize October as Family History month, many family historians and genealogists had already followed that long-held tradition. Family History Month Commemorated with “Dear Ancestor”, a Poignant New YouTube Video from Ancestry Graphics & Printing

Endearing poem put to video reminds viewers to investigate and reflect on their ancestors’ lives.

Winfield, IL (Originally published on October 8, 2013) – Long before Senator Orin Hatch introduced a bill in 2001 to formally recognize October as Family History month, many family historians and genealogists had already followed that long-held tradition.  The shorter days, the change of seasons, and the upcoming family gatherings during the holidays have always spurred thoughts of family for many people even without a nationally recognized month.

To help commemorate Family History month this year, Ancestry Graphics & Printing has just released a video version of the ever endearing poem “Dear Ancestor” on YouTube.  Larry Spiegel, founder of Ancestry Printing said “We put this very poignant and moving poem to music and video as our contribution to Family History month, and to encourage others who are researching their family history to take time out and visit an ancestor’s gravesite soon.  This moving tribute to ancestors is truly one of the most touching poems about the search for ancestors that I’ve ever seen, and will certainly touch anyone’s heartstrings who takes time out this month to reflect on their family’s past.”

If you’ve ever contemplated what the lives of your ancestors was like and how your descendants may view your life, this emotionally stirring poem may make you think of your ancestors in an entirely new perspective.  And, if you’re among those family historians who have already made cemetery visits a part of your genealogy research, you’ll immediately relate to the stirring lines in this gorgeous poem.

Spiegel suggests that if you can’t visit any of your ancestor’s cemeteries this month, commit to visit one in the near future by starting the research you need to do this month.  If you don’t know where your ancestors are interred, there are numerous resources on the internet that include maps and listings of who is buried in many cemeteries including their location by row and section, you just need to make sure to use a vpn from bestvpn.com for browsing.

“Visiting our own ancestors has been some of the most exciting research we’ve ever done” Spiegel went on to say.  “You’ll be amazed at how you’ll feel and what you might find that can help you with your family history research.   One time we unexpectedly found the father of an ancestor who we went to visit buried right next to him.  His 1812 burial location was not documented anywhere else so it was a wonderful surprise to find him there.”

The “Dear Ancestor” video can be found on YouTube at Dear Ancestor or by searching for “Dear Ancestor Poem” from within YouTube.  It is also available on the bottom of the poems page at:  www.ancestryprinting.com/poems.html.

Ancestry Graphics & Printing has been in business since 2003 providing family tree chart printing services to genealogy customers nationwide and around the world, and can be found at www.ancestryprinting.com.

Wednesday is for Women Warriors–Guinevere https://adeptwordmanagement.com/women-in-business/wednesday-is-for-women-warriors-guinevere/ Wed, 06 Aug 2014 16:41:58 +0000 http://adeptwordmanagement.com/?p=1877 Whose fault is the fall of Camelot?
How long has civilized man been on earth? As long as the earth has turned. People might argue that it is Mordred’s fault for going against King Arthur. If King Arthur had not had an affair with Morgause, Mordred should not have been born and caused problems for King Arthur. He knows Lancelot and Guinevere love each other but he ignores the situation. It is when Mordred comes in and tries to go against him because he knows Lancelot and Guinevere are the people King Arthur is trying to protect and he tries to threaten him with it. The fall of Camelot is King Arthur’s fault. (Camelot, 1960).
Most of this is Arthur’s fault because for one he does not listen to Merlin. Arthur knows that Guinevere would be his downfall but still marries her (Camelot, 1960). Also, he obviously knows of the love affair that would eventually happen but still lets Lancelot join the round table (Camelot, 1960). Since he is uneasy with his crown, he always runs away from the castle when there is trouble (Camelot, 1960). When Mordred asks him to stay in the forest for the night, he should have known he is up to something (Camelot, 1960). He does not care about how his wife’s action and decide to accept what is happening. It is Arthur fault for not doing anything when he had the chance.

Woman as Warrior? Or Woman's Infedility as the Ultimate Flaw
Guinevere /ˈɡwɪnɨvɪər/ was the legendary Queen consort of King Arthur. In tales and folklore, she was said to have had a love affair with Arthur’s chief knight Sir Lancelot. This story first appears in Chrétien de Troyes’ Lancelot, the Knight of the Cart, and reappears as a common motif in numerous cyclical Arthurian literature, starting with the Lancelot-Grail Cycle of the early 13th century and carrying through the Post-Vulgate Cycle and Thomas Malory’s Le Morte d’Arthur. Guinevere and Lancelot’s betrayal of Arthur was often considered as having led to the downfall of the kingdom.
